Rope Picker Robot (RPR)

The AMS Rope Picker Robot is a state-of-the-art, Industry 4.0-ready robotic arm with a reach of up to 15 meters and the capability to handle height differences of up to 8 meters. Utilizing AI, it recognizes bollards on ships or quaysides and autonomously places mooring ropes, all controlled remotely from the wheelhouse. This innovation eliminates the need for deck personnel during mooring, significantly enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

Ship-to-Ship (STS) Mooring System

AMS's STS system leverages vacuum technology and AI-driven automation to streamline ship-to-ship mooring operations. By eliminating manual handling of mooring ropes and fenders, the system allows for mooring in as little as 1 minute. This rapid operation reduces emissions and enhances safety by minimizing human involvement.

Remote Payload Robot (RPR) – The Evolution

Building upon the original Rope Picker Robot, the Remote Payload Robot integrates automated mooring, bunkering, and e-charging connections into a single system. This all-in-one solution is designed to reduce human involvement further, boosting safety, efficiency, and uptime in maritime operations.

    AMS has developed an automatic mooring system

    series that is designed to be used in Ship-to-Ship

    (StS) operations, However, due to

    its modularity, it is also possible to use the StS

    series for conventional mooring operations by

    installing the system on shore or onboard. The StS series uses

    vacuum pads and has hydraulic telescopic arms

    that can reach out 12 m and pull the receiving ship

    into a predetermined distance between 2 and 8

    m. This will speed up mooring and make the

    operation safer. The telescopic arms that can

    control massive mooring forces kN and uses

    active damping technology that limit ship motions

    in surge and sway, ensuring safe operation in

    berth during different environmental and berthing conditions. The system is designed to enable mooring of ships without need for fenders. The mooring system include environmental sensors to adapt to the current environment.
